Committee, Office Support and Special Event Volunteers While construction is the most visible part of Habitat's volunteer program, successfully delivering on our mission requires help in many other areas: serving on committees, assisting with office tasks, or helping organize special events are just a few of the areas where you can make a difference.
Partnership
Committee assists partner families in the
process of becoming homeowners. They conduct educational workshops,
partner with families as mentors, clock sweat equity hours and are
the link between families and the organization. Site Selection
Committee makes recommendations for land acquisition through donation and purchase. Members locate sites, assess potential building lots,
search deeds, work with local agencies to research properties and
make purchase preparations. Family Selection
Committee conducts the selection process
for local working families that apply for partnership/home ownership.
Members interview families, evaluate their living and financial situations and make
recommendations to the Board of Directors. Development
Committee oversees fund-raising.
Members help to conduct The Foundation Fund (annual giving) and Carpenters Club campaigns, major giving, planned gifts and special project solicitations. Faith Relations Committee involves people of faith in the Habitat for Humanity Choptank mission by building relationships with organization leaders, lay people, parishioners and members. Finance Committee oversees the implementation and administration of policies and procedures related to accounting for the finances of the organization.
